The story

Kreater is a custom fabrication shop in Etobicoke, Ontario — metal fabrication, ground-up automotive builds, and one-off motorcycle work. They came to us with the problem every custom shop faces online: the category has a look — near-black backgrounds, amber accents, a bold condensed typeface — and it makes even the best shops read as generic and dated.

We built the opposite. A cinematic, build-led site where full-bleed photography leads every page and the interface gets out of the way: a distinct dark identity with a single cold accent, a custom OKLCH design system, and self-hosted type. Fabrication leads, automotive follows, and the motorcycle heritage earns its place as the origin story.

Behind it sits a self-managed CMS. The shop publishes builds, fabrication projects, services, staff, events, and a live social feed — uploading and managing their own photos and video — without touching code or calling a developer. The database is the single source of truth, so the public site always renders exactly what the admin manages.

The brief

  • Escape the generic "custom car shop" template with a distinct, premium identity
  • Let the shop publish builds, services, staff and events themselves — no developer required
  • Lead every major page with full-bleed, build-led photography
  • Fast, mobile-first, and accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA) with strong SEO

  3. 03

    A self-managed CMS with a drag-and-drop media library and in-browser image/video processing

  4. 04

Role-based admin access, contact-to-inbox inquiries, and a live Instagram feed
